Baker Harrell, PhD
Dr. Baker Harrell is a serial social entrepreneur, founding and leading multiple, successful nonprofit organizations over his 15-year career in the social services sector. During his tenure, Baker raised and managed more than $35 million in funding from federal and state agencies, corporations, grantmaking institutions, and individuals. He also forged multiyear strategic partnerships with some of Texas’ leading agencies, organizations, and companies, including H-E-B, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the University of Texas System, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas.
In 2019, Baker selected Dr. Amy McGeady to succeed him as the CEO of It’s Time Texas – the statewide public health nonprofit that he founded in 2014. That same year, he received the Texas Health Champion award by Live Smart Texas and the University of Texas School of Public Health – Michael and Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living. Baker is an alumnus of UT Austin, where he earned his Master’s and doctoral degrees.
Last year, Baker partnered with Meredith Alderson and his wife Lisa Harrell to found Heyday – a purpose-driven real estate company whose social mission is to address affordable housing in the communities in which it operates. As a Principal at Heyday, Baker leads the company’s strategic growth, team success, and philanthropic efforts. Later this summer, Baker, Lisa, and their two daughters will be moving to Morrison, Colorado, where they will launch Heyday’s Colorado office.

August 2025 Market Stats are in!
Pending sales jumped 8.2% in August — the fourth straight month of year-over-year growth — showing that buyer activity is on the rise as we head into fall. The median home price held steady at $444,490, keeping the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos market healthy and balanced for both buyers and sellers. Active listings are up 13% compared to last year, though inventory is trending slightly lower month-over-month, signaling steady demand.
We’re already seeing buyer activity pick up since news of potential mortgage rate reductions earlier this month, and we expect that momentum to continue into the fall season. Our team has some exciting new listings lined up and we can’t wait to share them with you!

The July stats are in!
As summer winds down, the market is shifting in expected ways - cooling slightly, but still showing strong momentum. Prices are stabilizing, with a modest uptick in the City of Austin and a slight dip across the broader MSA. Sales in the city held steady, while the larger Austin area experienced about an 8% decline. Inventory continues to climb, giving buyers more options, and pending sales are on the rise across the board.
Traditionally, six months of inventory is considered a “balanced” market, but many sellers aren’t experiencing it that way. Buyers are watching closely, often circling homes before making a move…until that standout property comes along and sparks multiple offers. As we head into fall, sales typically take on a more measured pace, yet attractive interest rates and the possibility of a Fed rate cut could reignite buyer activity. If you’re considering a purchase or sale, let’s connect and put a plan in place that works for your goals!
